Day 100 - WE DID IT!

Day 100: WE DID IT!

Today’s Big Idea: Just Keep planting

Key Verse: 2 Corinthians 9:10-11

Passage of the day: 2 Corinthians 9:6-15

Thoughts to consider: The first half of this whole process was to define reality. To really check you heart and define what Zero meant to you. The second half of this process was to encourage you to find the place where God would have you serve His Kingdom and then empower you to do so. Now we get to celebrate and say Thank You. This passage is not just about giving and it is not about manipulating the system that God has set up. Let’s look at the Key Verses again. “For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat.” This is a reminder that when you, the farmer, do your job of planting seeds, you will receive more seeds to plant. Then, only after you have planted, you will receive bread to eat from the harvest of what you have planted. So just keep planting, and you will always have seed and bread. “You will be enriched in every way,” isn’t about getting rich. It is about generosity. Why are you being enriched, “… so that you can always be generous.” The goal is not to accumulate wealth or blessing, but to nurture a spirit of generosity. The most fertile ground of the heart is one that knows and understands generosity. We have, because God gave. The most joyous, life-giving Christians and churches ooze generosity. They are not about getting, they are about giving. That should always be the result of receiving God’s blessings. We are not supposed to be the bucket for the Lord. We are to be the pipeline through which God’s blessings flow. Now that you have a heart of fertile soil, it is time to become the Farmer in both the first half of this process found in Matthew 13, and now the farmer in the second half of this process found in 2 Corinthians 9.
