Day 53: We Need Everyone

Today’s Big Idea: Don’t despise the role of others.

Passage of the day: 1 Corinthians 12:12-31

Thoughts to consider: As we saw yesterday, we can easily despise the role we play in the church. And if we don’t deal with those feelings in a healthy, biblical way we often turn those toxic feelings outward towards others. 

Each of us is indispensable. The Bible says so. In fact, like the human body, the parts that seem weakest and most vulnerable are often the most important for the functioning of a healthy body. Have you ever devalued someone else’s role? Maybe said something like, “They are too young to be of any use.” or “They are too old to be relevant.” Or maybe “They don’t think like I do, they must not be mature.” The truth is, only God knows each heart. He knows that each of them has a place in His plan. The Big C Church is the same way. God knows what He has called each of us too within His Kingdom. And it is our responsibility to embrace, grow, and put to use the gifts and roles of everyone for the work of the whole.
