Day 59: Quick Obedience

Today’s Big Idea: Do not hesitate.

Key Verse: Acts 10:19-20

Passage of the day: Acts 10:7-23

Thoughts to consider: “Do not hesitate,” God tells Peter. When Peter walked with Jesus as His disciple, Peter was always the one who ran faster than everyone else. Sometimes even faster than Jesus which led to really bad consequences. But what does the former hothead do in his later years when God asks him to move faster than he is ready for? Peter doesn’t hesitate. For a lot of people, myself included, quick obedience may be the hardest part of God’s commands. Really? I don’t get to think about this for a while? No. At least not this time. Once Peter knew it was God’s will, his only choice was to obey. Most of the time, the Lord gives us time to reflect, consider, and ponder when he asks us to do something. But sometimes, there is an urgency to it. Once you know, it’s time to go! Do you have anything holding you back from moving forward, either on your own or as a church? If so, what do you need to do to surrender the doubts and fears to God and take a bold step of obedience?
