Day 31: Moving One Step Closer

Today’s Big Idea: Spiritual Gifts

Passage of the day: 1 Corinthians 12:1-11

Thoughts to consider: We can’t jump from a negative position on the scale to Zero overnight. However, we can use our spiritual gifts faithfully to take one step closer. And not by just serving on a church team one time. Doing a task or jumping into a project isn’t the answer either. Especially for the busy soil crowd. Rather, we can learn and embrace the gift that God has given each of us and begin to operate in that gifting everyday when possible. Paul tells us in today’s passage that “A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.” No good work is for you alone. It is for other people. People who need what you have, just as you need what they have. One gift is ‘wise advice’. Another ‘great faith’. Still another is ‘discernment’. These are all practical spiritual gifts. Gifts to be used often. When we do use them, we grow spiritually and others are blessed. 

While on this journey, practice using your gifts, and you will see yourself move one step closer.
