Day 33 - What are my Spiritual Gifts?

Day 33: What are my spiritual gifts?

Today’s Big Idea: YES…Even You!

Key Verse: Romans 12:6

Passage of the day: Romans 12:3-8

Thoughts to consider: According to today’s passage, every follower of Jesus has at least one spiritual gift. That includes you. You may not know it yet, and you may not believe it yet, but you do. There is so much to learn from today’s passage. Like we all have a gift, each has a different function, one gift isn’t better than the other. But what needs to be pointed out is, that our gift leads to our function. This leads to a very important question; What are my spiritual gifts and how can I discover them? Though there are some helpful gifts test out there, the most effective way to discover your gifts is simple: start doing something! We discover our gifts by using them.

“But how do I use them if I don’t know what they are?”, one may wonder. Valid question. Simple answer. Find a need and fill it. What needs do you see around you? What do people come to you for most? Advice? Finances? Prayer? Listening? All of those are tied to a spiritual gift that can be found in the past few day’s passages. When we begin to do what needs to get done, we will quickly find what we have been gifted to do. The opposite is also true; if we never begin to fill needs or engage opportunities when presented, then we can miss out on growth and others miss out on a blessing that you were equipped to provide. You may never know what to really call your specific gifts, but it is more important to use them than to know what to call them.
