Day 80 - Never Alone

Day 80: Never Alone

Today’s Big Idea: Jesus, the equipper.

Key Verse: Luke 10:1

Passage of the day: Luke 10:1-9

Thoughts to consider: Once we choose to follow Jesus with all our heart and life, we meed to be equipped because there is going to be an assignment. Jesus had more than just 12 followers. The crowds showed up wherever Jesus went. But there was a distinction between the twelve and the crowds of people. There was a group of seventy-two people that followed Jesus closely enough to be mentored by Him. They had walked with Jesus, observed His behavior, and sat under His training. Then Jesus sent them out two-by-two to the towns where Jesus was planning to go. It is important to understand that as much as Jesus was entirely led by the Spirit, it didn’t stop Him from planning, mentoring, delegating, and assessing the work load. This is why we plan, train, and work in teams at the church. This is why you will be more successful in the assignment (ministry) He has given you. And it is also why we have said you can’t do it alone. We need each other to accomplish the assignments of God. Jesus equips us not only with skills, but with others to work alongside as we minister.
